Eartha S. Dunston

Author. Lifestyle Blogger. Mentor.

Eartha S. Dunston is an award-winning author and quintessential Southern cook, known for creating simple cuisine often rooted deep in history with rich stories behind her dishes. Her maternal grandparents were both professional cooks in Mobile, Alabama. Eartha grew up in kitchens where gumbo was made from fresh-caught Gulf seafood; and where homemade barbecue sauce rivaled the pit-smoked meat it was created for.

Writing Our Lives Southern Anthology

Edited by Janis F. Kearny

Introducing the Writing Our Lives Southern Anthology

In 2015, a group of ten writers convened for the inaugural Writing Our Lives Memoir Writing Workshop, uniting to explore and exchange the craft of storytelling.

A year later, participants from the freshman class of the 1st Annual Read.Write.Share Writers Weekend emerged as a contributor to the Writing Our Lives Southern Anthology.

Driven by a shared commitment to sharing their narratives with the world, these writers delved into their memories and innermost selves, unearthing rich and distinctive Southern tales. Each story, a product of cherished recollections, hidden truths, joys, and sorrows, spilled onto the blank canvas of the page.
